From Matthew...

Happy to report that my dear second born is quite verbal, too. It must be in the genes. :) I'll have to post some of his funnier words sometime... they include peacock, share, turn, oval and again!

His antics are quite amusing, though not always verbal. We often sing our grace/prayer before meals and Matthew readies himself by folding his hands. The other day during breakfast I was toasting a second round of English muffins and singing "Do you know the muffin man?" He looked up at me mid-bite and folded his hands reverently. So dear.

From Hannah...

+ Bringing me her doll with a new dress, Hannah announced, "My friend from college gave her that dress." Realizing she might think it's a place, I asked her where college was and she said, "Far away." Too funny. This is a tribute to all my FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE who send my kids such dear things.

+ To Matthew, while cutting with scissors, Hannah said: "I'm sorry, my dear. This is not for you."

+ Playing with a candle snuffer, Hannah asked, "This is for getting the burns off of candles, right, Mom?"

+ In her words: "I like getting time outs because they don't hurt my bottom."

+ When finding out that she would be with Daddy for the evening and not her favorite sitter, Grace, Hannah complained, "I don't want to stay with Daddy." When appraised of the consequence of whining (loss of a privilege, in this case), she said, cheerfully, "I changed my mind! I love Daddy."

+ At her cousins' house, Hannah had gathered all of the stuffed animals in a bag and was not willing to share. When her cousin Becky complained, Hannah said, "But I'm her guest!" Too funny. Guests DO get first dibs at our house, so she's picked something up...
